Since Catherine Boshuizen was young, she really liked fitness and sport. During high school, she played in volley ball team for 4 years, joined the softball team on the first and second year, and joined the pole vault team on the first and third year. On summer, she really enjoyed improving her skill on water skiing. She had realized from the start that she wanted to work in health field and had a good physic and health was to be the biggest part of her life.
Catherine continued her college at Oregon University and earned 2 degrees, Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Exercise and Sport Science. She was always impressed by the human body that was able to react and adapt with many existing physical conditions. The human body is a combination of an amazing machine and a wonderful art with great ability. She didn’t only like to learn physiological ability, but she also applied it on her daily activities and her exercise goals. When she was in college, she ran 10 km and 15 km just for fun. Then weightlifting gave her a huge impact in her life.
When Catherine began exercising with her future husband, she began to learn the right way to do weightlifting effectively. Reviewing the knowledge she received from school and learning from her husband’s experience, she began to make better goals. Catherine was inspired by a young girl at her gym to increase her training portion and competed with her in body shaping. Since she always paid attention to the food she ate and ate healthily, she had a natural health. She also liked an elegant body shape of an athlete and she felt that her physic had the potential to compete in sport. She began exercising with a trainer and she was inspired and encouraged to increase her physical training to the level she had never imagined before.
Catherine Boshuizen received a Pro card on Junior Nationals Figure Championships in Chicago in 2008, and she performed for the first time on IFBB Figure Pro in early 2009 and continued working as a fitness model. She enjoyed fitness lifestyle and be a part of the fitness industry. She felt proud with all the modeling she had done all this time. She worked with many great photographers, who were able to capture the beauty of human body and all of its artistic and expressions. She also enjoyed being an inspiration to students, family, and friends. She would take every opportunity to provide support to everyone to live healthier and have a more positive lifestyle.
There are many things sport has taught her, and some of them are: the importance of discipline, dedication, consistency, and balance between spiritual, emotional, and physical, surrounding her life with positive people, positive thinking, positive influence, feeling happy and secure with yourself as a human, and the thought that we are stronger than we imagine.
